Helloooo! We are former JCW R56 owners who have returned to the Mini family and we're so happy to be back! We've ordered a Clubman JCW and are already looking at cool mods so we're ready when she arrives. New wheels/tires are first on our list as NJ winters don't do well with potholes and winters. Also, suspension lowering and possible exhaust. What have you guys done? What would you recommend? We're really looking forward to getting back in the community. TIA for any ideas, suggestions etc.
The non-adaptive LED lights have a very good spread but not enough distance - on dark, country roads I found myself trying to look beyond the beams. Hard to fit driving lights, so I have a light bar going on next week with 680m (over 700 yards) range.
I also had the dealer remove the word "Clubman" from the back of the car - looks much better IMO.
And a ceramic coating.
Congrats! It's a great car! Depending on what you're going for, you may want to consider a new intake or filter even. And I have a Racechip I've been meaning to install too. :/ And have some lower door panels on my wish list. Lastly, not sure how you feel about the chrome, but there are plenty of options to dechrome, as you may already know. This is a good thread to follow, Masada posts lot's of goodies: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...n-the-box.html
So far:
- New wheels and tires
- Replaced HK stereo with BinnerTech Alpha and amp
- Add BimmerTech Android Auto
- Paint front red stripe to gray
- Paint black all JCW logos
- New side LED turn signals
- Vinyl several interior parts
- Change brake pads to low dust version
- Did some Bimmercode changes
- Cup holder cell phone mount

What Bimmercode changes did you make? I tried the app yesterday and immediately set the Active Cruise Control distance to the minimum. That one was driving me crazy, because I use the cruise control a lot when driving around town -- prevents speeding tickets. The other one I did was set Sport mode as the default when I start the car.

A fine F54 indeed a d enigmatic black to boot. I had a few questions:
How did you paint the front red stripe?
How did you paint the front JCW logo?
Are you happy with the results of changing the speakers and amp? I am considering getting an Audison system as Bavsound doesn't convince me and they don't have an amp.

Yes, ask away as it is fun watching a build come together and seeing people put their own touches on their Mini.

Many thanks,

I removed the parts and gave them to the paint shop. The stripe is difficult to remove and I have to re-glue some clips.
I very happy with the BimmerTech sound upgrade. The amp is great and you can configure everything with the laptop. Takes some time.

Thanks for the reply and the info, that is good to know and nice to hear you are happy with the audio upgrade.
I too have a new JCW F54 waiting at the port for release. I should take delivery by EOY or just after the first. I'm in the same boat, though this is my first Mini.
I'm new to this. Does the BimmerTech just work through the app or do you need one of the plugins they sell as well, and which one do you need for the F54?
