ID5/ID6 ready HU identification

Hi Heckers 😉

I think I've read to big part of internet content about NBT, trying to understand which hardware will work without problems once upgraded to id5. I see that those question has been asked many times, with different answers and solutions. I think that it would be really helpful if they would be collected in one topic.

1) What screen can be used for id5/6. It seems that the best option is 8,8" touch display. As it's a rare piece, until some software version it will work well on 8,8" non touch. I suppose that is due to some fintionality in newest software versions. But what about 6,5" non- touch and touch displays? Are they fine as well in some configurations, or there are some issues?

2) Part of id5/6 ecosystem is new touch controller. Once retrofitted it needs a module to be installed on the side. Can anyone explain that advantage it gives over the old type? Does it help with non touch display?

3) HU is the worst unknown enemy. I understand that Enteynav2 HU can handle carplay, but those cannot be retrofitted used to another car. The only option seems to be 4GB NBT Evo. And here the chaos comes:
- It seems that BMW NBT can be used on Mini. But what about those with DVD slot?
- Some says that the NBT must have black cover to be legit 4GB.
- It seems that the unit has to be HW 3.x at minimum up to some opinions.
- It seems that the unit has to be B201 B20x, B21x, B238, B240-242. Anything else is not 4GB (i.e. all B1xx, B243 and above).
But to be honest, there is no clear prophecy in this matter.

4) There are cars without GPS antenna. There are some interesting threads about that, but can anyone advise if there are some solutions like if DAB antenna can be used as GPS one?

Any serious hints welcomed and thanks in advance.
