Navigation & Audio Add Navi Later?
#2
From everything I've read here. . .It's better to just buy an external NAV unit! I guess the one from MINI is not all that impressive. Something I wish I would have know about before I spent the $750. Haven't got my CMS4 yet, so I can not say one way or the other if what everyone is saying is true about it!

I believe (and could be wrong) that most of the cars are pre-wired for the antenna's (the base of the antenna contains most of the required parts and the wires are run but not hooked anywhere). If that's true, then all you would need is to find the correct module (realoem.com wasn't very helpful on this; so you might have to contact you MA).
My personal feeling is that I like have NAV, but if I were to do it again I'd leave it out. I'd keep the screen but probably go the "build-your-own" and install something better.

I agree with you, the car has satellite radio, so there is great chance that it has pre-wired with gps hardware unit.
I have succeeded to code to get the navigation item show in the menu, but everytime you enter it, it just stuck there forever. I think you still need the actual navigation software. Or maybe there is another option to enable it.
