I’ve upgraded all of the exterior lights on my 2015 F56 to LEDs. The taillights are stock with LED bulbs. In BimmerCode, the settings are under the BDC (Body Domain Controller). When LED lights are installed, in BimmerCode, you will see “LED Retrofit” with the options of “active” or “inactive”. Make them active and there will be no errors.

Unfortunately I have halogen head lights and tail lights. Did you also have halogen headlights?

I did. I picked up a set of LED headlights from AliExpress. They look like the LCI headlights with the full circle DRLs and turn signals. It was the same procedure I mentioned above. Any lights replaced with LEDs will show as “LED retrofit”. Just make them “active” in BimmerCode.
Sorry to bring back an old thread but I have recently upgraded to the stock non UJ LED’s and can’t get the rings to light up, only the the incandescent lights. When I open BimmerCode no option for “LED Retrofit” shows up. Can anyone help me out with going into expert mode on how to get the LED Module working? Thanks
So for anyone else looking to upgrade their stock halogen taillights to the stock non Union Jack LED taillights, here is some great info on the process.

If you fit LEDs sold as 'canbus error-free' I don't think you'll need to do any coding or re-wiring.
Be sure to get LEDs the same color as the lens they are behind.
If you get any flickering or a high flash rate, you can fit resistors easily.
There are hundreds of eBay vendors but Auxito & Morimoto seem to be decent brands.
