R55 Low pressure fuel lines - quick release clip sizing?
[solved] Low pressure fuel lines - quick release clip sizing?
Hello all
Dropped the subframe out of the R55 today and managed to hook off ( and break) one of the quick release fittings on the end of the low pressure fuel line flexible connectors.
Looking at them they are a fairly standard q/r clip that has been fixed into a flexible pipe using a standard pipe clip - so I could just replace the broken fitting but, for the life of me, I cannot identify the size or a third party part number - has anybody any knowledge of this at all?
(Original replacements are an eye watering amount as they are only for a complete line)
Thanks

Cancel this - got my stronger spectacles and a good torch and went out under the car - fuel lines are of different sizes. I have broken the clip on the smaller one. Clip has "RAY 7.89" on it - it is a right angled, one button clip as found https://www.tfc.eu.com/product/7-89mm-5-16-sae-3/ (Cannot swear to the diameter of the barbed end until I can extract it from the pipe on the car)
Further info: there are two nylon pipes that run forward from the fuel tank to the engine - one is the main feed and the other (smaller) diameter is the return. These connect to the engine via flexible piping and quick release clips which are sold as a complete unit by Mini (part number 13532757169 approx USD $130). This connection is perfectly situated to get damaged if you drop the subframe with steering rack attached when on stands and drag the subframe out to one side.
On the return pipe (which is the one I damaged) the internal diameter for the clip is 6mm so you want 7.89 x 6 for that one.
I didn't break the main feed so cannot help you there.
