Fuel Pressure Regulator

Has anyone found a substitute for the original Fuel Pressure regulator that would fit straight into the fuel rail instead of the EOM from BMW ?

The BMW one part number 13311521393 is labeled as 3.5 bar,if I could get a substitute one with a higher bar reading then I asssume the higher pressure in the rail would then always be the same increase at tickover or at full boost over the standard fitment.

The one fitted I understand is a 1:1 ratio so if manifold pressure increases by 1 lb then the pressure in the fuel rail would also increase by 1 lb.

This I hope would give an increase in fuel sprayed though the injectors.

I have the measurements of the standard regulator if that would help.

Look forward to your views.

The regulator, as you may already understand, is integrated into the fuel rail, so that causes some creative thinking. I believe it's vacuum regulated .

You may be able to remove the cap on the right side of the rail and fit the fuel line there via an AN-4 fitting I think. Then you'd have to block off the original fuel inlet. This might work. Then you could use any aftermarket regulator. I'd suggest the The Aeromotive A1000-6 Injected Bypass Regulator.
There is a fuel rail available for the S but the top mount IC won't fit with it.

In order to make the power we do with our OBDII compliant No Hype 270 package a fuel delivery system that uses a rising rate FPR, a return line, and a fuel rail that fits under the stock intercooler is fitted. For a test drive in the car or for further information all you have to do is contact us.

I accept that the best solution would be to upgrade the supply sysem.

I just wondered if some other car manufacture like AUDI , who use this system of a regulator with no return to the fuel , used a compatable part possible from the same supplier.

With all mass produced item there will be some manufacturing tolerance and the OEM fitment which says 3.5 Bar could produce less than this.

I have looked on various part sites and some Fuel Pressure Regulators look almost identical with 4.0 and 4.5 bar ratings but with no dimensions on these sites it is difficult to choose.
