looking at purchasing some mirror caps for my 2016 s, manual mirrors.

looking at eBay, and Amazon…. Prices all over the map. Looking for a recommendation of a solid vendor.

Hey Ron,

I would get something oem. Those sites are likely stick on caps so the fitment will be questionable and your putting sketchy adhesive on your paint which is harder to replace. When you’re done you can put the originals back on and sell the oem ones for the difference of what you think you’re going to save. Install is simple but your dealer probably won’t break the clips.

I can offer a positive experience with the stick-on mirror caps on my F56. My spouse gave me a set of Gold Union Jack covers for Christmas a few years ago. While the fit isn’t quite perfect, the graphics quality is excellent and the adhesive is strong. I was more concerned that the adhesive might not be strong enough.

I haven’t ever had problems with any adhesive pulling up paint, on this or previous cars, and I have done some dumb things in my time. If adhesive tape pulls up paint, then the paint’s own chemistry is failing.

Don’t disagree with that statement. I guess some heat will pull it up but the edge of the mirror cap has to be visible when it’s installed if it’s overlaid? For the difference in price I’d still stay oem, IMHO

 

I can't find 2020+ mirror caps that are black other than the stick-on models on ebay and Amazon. :(

Not much; the edges do line up. But it’s not invisible, either. I’ll take and post some photos when I get home in a couple days.

I actually picked up a pair of the whimsical “Big Bang” mirror caps that I’ve been meaning to swap on. They aren’t classy and elegant, but let’s be honest, neither is my Volcanic Orange …I’ll never grow up!

 

The 2020+ models have different mirrors and Mini doesn't just a plain black one. Sadness.

 

That link shows three of the newer mirror caps - Night Jack, Union Jack, and JCW. But I don't see a plain black one.

You can also have them painted to the color you want. That's what I did.
