Interior/Exterior Anyone seen American Flag mirror caps?
I have not seen them - but they shouldn't be hard to make. Any decent local quicky sign comapny should be able to make a set out of vinyl and apply it to your stock mirror caps.
Or try Mike at Aesthetic Creations ( vendor on this site ) - he does great work!!

Never crossed my mind....why would you want american mirror caps on a British car!?
You should really be getting UJ mirror caps and an american flag on the rearview mirror. Best of both worlds.

The MINI's parts bins is mostly European Union origin with the exception of the Brazilian built TRITEC engine (But that will change in '07 when the parts content will be almost 99% EU origin).
The MINI has many parts built in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, USA, etc.
If you want to learn a good bit of history and trivia about the current BMW MINI I highly recommend ordering a copy of Graham Robson's excellent second edition book titled "NEW MINI".
Having said this, the current MINI is built in the UK and mostly by British workforce so the car is technically still a British product. However the first letter of the VIN number "W" attests to its German ownership. "W" means that the car was manufactured in "West Germany". Interestingly, these VIN origin codes have not changed since the fall of the Berlin wall and I have no idea why.
At any rate, my '05 MCS CR/W proudly wears the Union Jack on the roof to show its current and historical roots.
When I was deciding about the roof flag, I also considered the Old Glory but as a beautiful flag as it is, it just doesn't look good on the MINI's roof because it lacks the symmetry of the Union Jack.
Besides I also considered that some people would get more offended seeing the USA flag on a small "British" car than seeing the Union Jack.
I have driven all over the deep South and the Union Jack has not "awaken" any rude or middle finger gestures from drivers around me LOL
I guess some of the rednecks see a little of the Confederate flag on the Union Jack, I guess....

Yes! I have seen them! I saw a HB/B cabrio at the Dragon with them...they looked terrific! Just found them:http://www.triple-c.com/Store_Detail...41&SnipID=5332
TBH, I have never seen them. I dont look around much, but I have only seen UJ caps. I KNOW there are more out there. Just takes a little while to find em. And, if there isnt such thing, I am sure you could have some one paint your white ones...

Going along the same line of reasoning, NIkes, Reeboks or just about everything sold in America, although owned and normally regarded as American, may be made, in China, Taiwan, Mexico along with computer parts and help outsourced to India.
Yet, I see nobody saying NIke is a Chinese sneaker or Dell makes Indian computers.

Sorry, for some reason, I misread your request, and thought you were looking for the Union Jack! Oopsie!
Bottom line, in the aftermarket arena we still have a long way to go here in the U.S. when it comes to items like this. Maybe that's not all a bad thing, though...get some custom graphics done and be truly unique!!

I think the assymetric style of the american flag may look funny on mirrors. dunno how it would work. here's an idea... get covers in blue with stars on it... maybe a bit of red and white stripe at the bottom... but only under the stars...

Great minds think alike!
I think it could work...maybe not s a flag, per se, but some variation in red, white and blue as suggested. There are many such variations out there...keep your eyes feeled on July 4th!!
As for dealing w/ the curves of the mirror cap...they pulled off a Union Jack...that's quite linear. Certainly something similar could be done around the U.S. flag. Be careful though...you might only have room for one star and then you'd have a Texas flag which, frankly, works for me!!!

I think you can make it work if you just reverse the flag image and keep the stars to the outside. To do this in vinyl the hard part is the contour of the miror. The ones that are made for the mirrors are printed some how on to the caps.

There is alway my A panel designs as well.

I don't know about keeping the stars on the outside edge. The look of it like that makes me think that they're going to fall off (or it just feels unbalanced). Of course that could be based on how the flag is normally shown with the stars in the upper left corner.

I like that a-panel design. As for the mirror caps, would it work to have a field of stars at the top and the red & white stripes running vertically instead of horizontally. I know that'd get weird on the sides but it'd be very Captain America!!!

LOL!
