Axle problems

Hey all so I have completed the removal of the cancerous midland 5speed. And finished my getrag 6speed swap in my 02 r50. Let me just cut to the chase... I did the axles from Sneed4speed. The passenger axle with the carrier bearing. It doesn't line up with holes on the block. If I mount the bracket the axle doesn't sit fully into the transmission to engage the diff. So I'm at a loss right now hitting my head against the wall. And was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Or know how to navigate this with out having to build an adapter plate. The picture is with the axle fully into the transmission.

Thank you in advance everyone.

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like it would just need to turn a bit and it would line up.

did the axle fit before?

Sorry for it took me so long to reply. I found the problem and band aided the issue . But the problem im still having is if the carrier bearing is bolted to the block the axle doesn't sit all the way into the trans. I have tried two different axles of the same make and also contacted the manufacture of them. After talking to them they said there should be no problem. So when my ball joints show up and get time to install them. Im going to see if i can take my time with a small punch and work the bearing. To where the carrier bearing will bolt to the block and stay fully in the trans.

This is how far it sit out when the carrier bearing is bolted to the block

There should be a thin wire c-clip attached to the inboard side of the axle (going into the diff). It should lock in place when the axle is pushed in all the way. Not sure if that is your issue but it could also be that the axle is not the correct length for your application (seems more the case). Did you make Sneed aware of your trans swap?

Yes I did and they said it shouldn't have been a problem since the r53 and r50 are the same block. I have tried two axles from them. So I guess I'm going to have to try and work it with a punch
