Pretty exciting to see BM3 opened up for the Mini platform! Is the 192hp Cooper S B46 motor considered “low pressure” in your hp estimate table above?

Any feedback from your testing phase and/or dyno charts for a cooper S?

Anyone? OP? I'm surprised there's not a ton of chatter on this...the Supra and F30 guys are all about BM3 apparently.

I was hoping to see some feedback regarding this as well. I messaged bm3 support today about installing it for my F60. Unfortunately my car has the latest DME update and will need to be bench unlocked before I can do anything.

Hi all,

I had my 1st mini cooper B46 customer today with BM3 and so far all good no issues, he is still testing and I am waiting for him to send me some logs for review.
Once I get his feedback I will let you all know about it.
Mini Cooper S B46 - Stage 1 BM3 93 octane.
However there are many other users using it and they are happy with it.
If anyone interested let me know, I am an authorized bm3 dealer and for the same price you get cable and my remote support .
Thanks.

Regards,
Shane

the Cooper S B48-H is a high compression motor. 11:1 compression. The JCW is the B48-L low compression motor 10.1-1 compression. I have the BM3 stage 1 flash on my 17 Cooper S and I can say it absolutely hauls ***. I also have an Eventuri carbon intake and hood scoop, and a larger Forge FMIC. I used to run a JB4 on map 2 and the stage 1 flash destroys it in every way. I still use the JB4 as a data logger and for gauges.

Don't know if this is a dead thread bit I have the tune on my jcw

Hey yall don't know if it's dead or if anyone wanted more info on how it was running and what not but I have seen good gains as far as it's all concerned with next to no issues other than the drive train code throws anytime I hit 165+ which is the speed limit cut-off I believe from factory other than that it's a badass tune for decent gains at a decent price! And stage 2 only requires a downpipe upgrade according to the staff at the support email!

how’s it been going? did you notice a big jump in throttle response too? Have you been able to adjust burbles or enable gts startup? I’ve had bm3 stage 1 on my F30 328i for a couple years and I love it. Totally transformed the car. Looking forward to flashing my 2017 JCW soon! How was the flash process?

I have the 91 Octane tune installed on my 2016 F55 Carbon with the JCW kit. The install process was a breeze given that my model year did not require removing the DME. Bought a $20 cable off of Amazon, downloaded an app, sent a couple of emails to purchase the license key, connected my phone to the car .... more POWER!
I did have a slight hiccup during the install due to having the tune from the JCW kit: The app does some sort of verification process prior to flashing to see if the tune presently on the car is the same as it expects. If there is any difference, it won't proceed with the flash. There is an option to "force flash" which skips the process, but I wasn't going to risk screwing something up without getting confirmation from Shane. I should also add that Shane was super responsive and helped me sort everything out.

How is the tune? Super smooth and a lot more power than the JCW tune or the Dinan Sport (previously uninstalled due to constant CE lights).

I do appreciate having the ability to adjust the burble level (you use their website to modify the tune, then reflash the car using the app). The default burble level is 5, which seems slightly more than stock. I currently have it set to 4.5.

There are a couple of things I don't like about it though...

1. There is no start up "roar". Even with the "GTS startup" enabled, the car seems to rev maybe 500 rpm during start up. To me I feel like my Mini lost some of its personality.
2. The power is almost too smooth. I used to describe my car as kinda quick, but "punchy". Now the car has very linear power delivery. Seems like I transformed my car from a Mini into a fast FWD BMW. Basically more personality lost.

All in all, I am happy with the tune and would do it again. Even with the minor criticisms above, the extra power is totally worth it.

Do you think that punchy delivery was coming from the JCW tune and not the stock power? I find my stock Cooper JCW a bit too smooth on power delivery, I like a little turbo lag, adds character. When I installed BM3 on my N26 BMW there was a noticeable spike in power after 3k rpm that added a lot of excitement to the drive.

I'm sure the JCW tune contributed somewhat, but in general I think most factory tunes in cars with smaller turbos tend to deliver most of their torque up front and taper off way before redline. I do realize that it's unrealistic to expect an off the shelf tune to cater to my exact tastes, but I can dream, right?

I would like to stress that I am nit picking at fine details. The 91 octane tune as-is has enough power to spin summer tires through first and second in less than summer temperatures. The car really starts pull hard in 3rd at 75+% throttle. It's a really good tune. Happy customer here.

I had hoped to go the same way but for some reason my 2015 F55 has to have a bench unlock according to the app and the online agent. Bought the Bm3 and extra maps package. Flashing stopped a few seconds in so I tried to flash stock and it bricked the cart. PFT worked thier voodoo enough to get the car running but say I'll still need a bench unlock. The dme was manufactured in 2014 so well before the cutoff.
The odd part I'm not understanding is the tunes I have in the cloud all have descriptions, rom # and swfl.. But as soon as I download to flash later all that information goes blank on the main downloaded maps page and for the individual map files themselves. No description, no bootloader, except for the Msid#. Do you know if that is a normal thing or not but photos provided. Just sucks to have to spend another couple hundred bucks to get it ready to flash.
And as far as the last flash you see, I'm not even sure because it never made it through a complete session. Grr. Just scared to push the flash now button again in fear to brick the car again.
