Great news!

Will Zaino be coming out with a Z-5pro too?

 

Don't know...you never really know what Sal is up to. One of my customers with a detailing business bought Z-2 Pro a couple of weeks ago just to try. He bought more today...more gloss, less drying time.

 

I used the Zaino line of products for the first time about 3 weeks back on my 05 MCS Black/Black. I got the Z2-Pro.

I've got to say one of the best things about the Zaino line of products is how forgiving it is. Getting the wax onto the plastic trim spats wipes off and doesn't discolor or leave residue. Getting tire/trim stuff on the painted surfaces wipes right off without leaving a streak. There is absolutely no buildup of wax in the body seams.

There is a lot of labor involved in layering multiple coats of Z5 and Z2-Pro (including wiping down with gloss enhancer between each coat) but the results are spectacular, and are not compromised by residue in all the cracks & crevices.

I'm sold on the stuff. Don't let its price scare you away, since it goes on so thin, it will take eons to use it all up.

I like the Zaino products and use them on my MINI. Like you, I initially thought it wouldn't discolor the textured plastic parts at the bottom of your MINI. I casually Zaino'd the entire car.

However, Zaino does seem to eventually build up and leave a residue behind. It's not as bad as most waxes, but I don't think that you really want to be too cavalier about applying it to the plastic. In fact, Zaino (http://www.zainobros.com/files/info.htm#anchor20946) doesn't claim that Z-2 won't discolor your plastic bits.

It's great on the paint, though: Highly recommended there both for the shine and the ease of application. And the Z-2 Pro may be different from the Zaino I bought from Steve Treece. But I'd exercise a bit of caution about applying it to the plastic skirts and arches.

Zaino can be applied to any smooth, non-porous surface. This does include the hard rubber moldings around the windows. Zaino Z-16 Tire Gloss seems to be a better choice for the textured plastic surfaces such as the wheel well arches.

The new Z-2 Pro is awesome!!!

 

I apply the Perfect Tire Gloss to the wheel arches and other textured trim before applying Zaino to the paint. This helps avoid any of it from sticking to the trim and leaving a residue..

You are going to find out that the finish on your car will be very easy to maintain. Yes, it does take a little to time to do it right the first time. The reward is not only the appearance you get, but the durability of the product and the ease of maintaining it. Just in case I didn't tell you, be sure to use the Z-6 Gloss Enhancer after you wash the car. It will help maintain the polish, restore that slick finish, and raise the gloss level.
