Motorsports events during Covid19 era
Let's start a thread about having Motorsports events (any) during this Covid19 pandemic.
Tell us your success stories and how it went for you (pluses and minuses)
Some areas are quite open and allow events while other states are highly regulated and seems like all events are prohibited to limit community spread risk.
SCCA has national guidelines on how to run an autocross and it seems like it can be done safely.
Some notes-
Basic self protection is vital- wear a mask (anytime within 6 ft of others)
Only drivers- no spectators
Avoid indoors
Driver's meeting can be done over public PA system or through broadcasting over FM frequency to car radios
All commonly touched surfaces such as worker equiptment and any handles or flags will need regular cleaning between uses.
No loaner helmets
Self Tech inspection with supervision and check off sheet
Groups within same household allowed more flexible contact with relaxed distancing (may be up to 5 in household).
Maybe higher cost for entry due to lower numbers at events
Sample guidelines for Covid19 from Big Island Hawaii SCCA autocross (has had two events that ran successfully so far)

The NER SCCA is headed for our 5th event, using these guidelines. We've been using Zoom for driver's meetings, the night before the event.
Things have proceeded smoothly, subject to Governor Baker's gathering limit to control driver count. Last event was a 50 cap - we started at 9:15 am and were done and dusted at 1:30 with 7-8 runs for each competitor.
Cheers,
Charlie
