Help! Hatch won’t open!

Is there a way to open the hatch from the inside? With no power?
car has power, solenoid to hatch doesn’t. I need to open it somehow.

older models had a release under the back seat. Sometimes.

owner's manual for 2007 R56

curiously the 2009 manual does not have this paragraph .....

but the manual for the coupe, roadster and convert' shows the location of the 'pull' for all of those models so I SUSPECT you will find this on any GEN2

F57 has it too ......

<very early GEN1 cars like my 2002 S lacked this ... it was rectified later but NOT retrofitted to cars built without>

My 2010 R56 LCI (german spec) has neither that paragraph in the maual, nor the actual latch under the rear seat.

I believe US made an 'inside' released mandatory

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards; Interior Trunk Release

Internal trunk release, that requires all new passenger cars with trunks be equipped with a release latch inside the trunk compartment beginning September 1, 2001. ...
