Before starting just make sure front car tires are straight and parallel to the car and that the steering wheel is straight, then disconnect the battery and have at it. Do not move steering wheel hub while disconnected as it may mess up clock spring.
I've removed the full dash from my car, replaced guage faces and all. This was easier than that.
