Water in right footwells

Sometimes when it rains water comes in and wets the footwell area on the right (never on the left). Either back or front or both. It drives me mad. I think it is through the door sills. there are white traces of dried out water, but they are never actually wet. I have opened the doors to check during rain as well. I have no sunroof. Where is the damn thing leaking from???? Car is kept tidy and clean. No rotten leaves in cracks or anywhere.

if it’s anything like my r55 it probably coming from the windshield cowl. Hence why there is a new one on the way. I was covering my windshield with a weather guard windshield cover thing I got from my father in law years ago. It works great with snow and did a decent job with rain.

Thank you. It is a 4-5 year old car though?! And I take care of it and clean it very well. I can't imagine a modern relatively new car to leak for no reason and this is without having a sunroof with clogged drains. It's going to be sold. I don't like it anyway.

Mine is 11 years old, and I can tell you it’s the cleanest car out in the parking lot, still doesn’t mean that water can sneak in from a leak seal anywhere. I take it this is your first mini?

I wipe it down every morning it’s not raining and she sits there looking pretty

Sitting pretty

Pretty indeed. Yes, it is my (my wife's rather) first mini and I can't wait to convince her to sell it ....I tried to like it, but .... the noise, the consumption, the staying longer in gears....now water coming in?! I live in the UK and never had water coming in a nonsunroof car. I know it is charming, but it's going...

Sorry to hear that, mine is a non sunroof car as well. The fun factor I have every time I drive her, out weighs the hours I spend on her up keep. She’s my b!tch, yes I am a bit **** about her, but she keeps treating me well.

I had this problem a few years ago but on the driver's side. Occasionally, would find a puddle of water on the floor. I removed the front wheel arch trim piece and found a huge buildup of dried leaves in the cavity to the right (looking at the driver's side front wheel). The leaves had built up going down to the door sill. When I popped open the door sill trim piece at the bottom (under car), like 2-3 gallons of water drained out. Haven't had the issue since, but I should probably check again. My car is street-parked under trees.

Happened to my wife’s 2014 Countryman. Dealer replaced the door seal under warranty. We’ve now got a leak on the driver’s side from under the windshield trim, but that will be another thread.
