Fitting an aftermarket wheel slip ring and boss query

Hi guys

I've done alot of research but I'm still not 100% on the horn wiring when fitting an aftermarket wheel.

I've seen some threads that say you can just chop off the horn wires and plug from an old wheel and plug them in to the slip ring terminal slot and then fit the boss over the whole lot but then I've also seen a couple of how to's where they essentially demolished that plug (because it sits proud of the slip ring surface) and did some more intricate wiring.

I also wondered about the airbag resistor/s , I've seen one thread where the guy fitted two 3.9 resistors in the yellow plug behind the column cowling. I've seen many threads where people say to leave those plugged in and just fit the one 2.1 resistor into the green plug.

Is there a preferred brand for the boss kit?

I just want to make it as tidy as possible and ideally not damage anything.😂

Thanks everyone
Koose
