driver's window won't drop when opening the door

So, replaced the driver's side quarter window regulator due to a broken cable and all works well, except now the driver's window does not drop when opening the door. so I have to push in on the top of the window when closing the door so it will seal. The passenger's side drops fine. Something I did when installing the regulator or something else I need to check? BTW, the top is working again. The damn thing is so intermittent that I can't find the problem. Might work 15 times, then quit working after once or may stop working 1/2 way up or down.
FWIW, the car is sitting sideways on my sloped driveway in front of my garage with the driver's side on the uphill (15-20° pitch) if that could make a difference on the window not dropping.

Did you reinitialize the reference point?

Hold the switch up with door closed for at least 5 seconds.

I think 10 seconds works better & then hold it down for 10.
