Driver Window Stuck in "UP" position

The driver window intermittently gets stuck in the up position. It does not close correctly - seems to be sticking out about 1/2 inch, letting air flow into the car in the up position. The passenger door window is working just fine. Any ideas why this is happening or how I can fix this?

Thanks for any help.

Mine also does this on occassion, close the door hard and just as the door is about to close push the window switch to the down position, that always works for me
