HELP ROUTING WIDEBAND AFR / Wiring
HELP ROUTING WIDEBAND AFR / Wiring
Hello been searching all over and can’t seem to find one.
Any of you installed an AFR Gauge and where did you route the sensor cable?
i have a scorpion header and the extra bung is on the passenger side ( right side US ) i have it routed up inside the right cowl and fed behind to the brake driver side area.
I have the innovative MTXL+ and the end of the cable is pretty thick. I see where the red battery cable goes. Do i just slit that open and tape it back?
Also, i need to splice the white wire to a HEADLIGHT power source to dim it at night when the headlights are on.
is there a diagram somewhere where i can tap under the steering Column?
Thank You again

I can't be of much help as I've never done an install on one, and I'm not even familiar with wiring colors either --- it makes me miss my old '86 Saab turbo that I knew like the back of my hand plus had kickass factory manuals that were very comprehensive. The literature for MINI is lacking such rich detail.
There's an online version of the Bentley manual somewhere but I forget the link offhand, it has basic wiring diagrams.
Found this bit online:

I use the MTX-L with the MiniLink G4+ on my 2003 R53.
RED wire to switched 12V
BLACK & WHITE wires to GND
YELLOW to Pin 9 (AN Volt 7)

Sadly not much in the NAM archives it seems either,
but here's a fairly recent convo with weird details:

Sorry I couldn't be of more help...
...and hey hey!

Cheers for getting a feature on your ride in PERFORMANCE MINI!!!
~ That is rad to the max!
One of my fave mags and I'll deffo grab a copy fersure.

Thanks man. Super excited for that.
ya i saw that wiring schematics. I don’t want to wire the white with the black or else it’ll be super bright at night. Thank You for the links.
