Adding EU license plates

We're taking our R60 to Italy (military move) and will need to mount EU tags front and rear. Should I try and hunt down the OEM plastic bases? I'm having no luck getting part numbers. Or should I just use some self tapping screws? We're not bringing it back to the US, so I don't care if we have holes in the bumper.

Assuming you aren't bringing it back to the U.S. because you intend to sell it in Italy....as a buyer, I would care very much that you couldn't be bothered to get an appropriate plate holder, and now the car has holes in the bumper. If you found a universal fit holder and THAT screwed into the bumper, I'd forgive you and still be interested.

For reference only. Looks right, says it's right, I can't verify.

I'd hold off until you get to Italy. I imagine you can legally drive for some period of time before registering locally.
The plate shape & size is very different from US ones.
Double-sided tape is often used, so holes may not be needed.
