The radio was no able to get AM radio stations. so I decide to review the antenna. the base was crack and the little screws were impossible the get them out. I could not figure out the type of screwdriver required. when I try to open it the unit broke.

I tried to replace the mast on my wife’s 2010. It was rusted and snapped off. I replaced the complete unit with an OEM part. Took two tries to get the correct one as it’s difficult to tell which one is needed in the online parts catalog. Might be worth a call to the MINI dealer.

 

I got a used antenna from the junkyard ($40 shipped) in very good shape.. it came from a 2013 and fits perfect. I believe from 2007 to 2014 has the same antenna. it was a pita to replace it. very small space and no room to see what I was doing, just by feeling.

And they changed the antenna base on the 65203442105 old part 65203417195 as its now a smaller base.
