Well being a cheapskate I am at times didn’t really feel like spending $25 on The stubby antenna so I just modified the stock antenna to be quite a bit shorter I never listen to AM but without the antenna it just didn’t look right.

Just cut the antenna with about a quarter inch left off of the base and took the tip trimmed it off with a razor knife and reattach the tip which is hollow with gorilla glue.
