It certainly isn't a stock fitting given those tie-raps so its something a prior owner installed. I'm guessing its some kind of drain? Perhaps you could follow that line and see where it goes or you could ask your 'friend' to contact the prior owner?

She bought it from a dealer, she asked them and they have no clue.......It looks to be some sort of drain to me also. But to drain what????

Dunno. Could be a sun roof drain thats been extended? You're going to have to 'follow the hose'...

Almost looks like a sort of soap dispenser pump LOL.

Wonder if they are using it as some sort of ghetto fix....also looks like its getting cooked by the exhaust.

Let us know when you trace where it goes to!

EDIT: I wonder if its one of those battery cut off switches like on an AutoX car?...like they rigged something up somehow?

It looks exactly like the soap dispenser for a kitchen sink. I'm surprised that a friend of the OP bought a Countryman after the issues you went through. Friends don't let friends buy R60's.

LOL
I tried to talk her out of it, and if she had sent me this pic before I would have tried harder, lol. Sometimes you fall in love with the wrong car. I still want another Mini R60 it would just have to be brand new with an extended warranty

no clue, I asked for a better pic. They are not concerned but I think it spells trouble down the line.

Following... when will it be up on a rack? Didn't someone check the car before buying? Take it to a AAA inspection.

Use a compressor and blow some air back up thru the vent and you should be able to hear where it comes out of the other end.
