Can anyone confirm this.....

My '06 R52 JCW has a white third brake light .......I thought it was aftermarket, so I went to RealOem and found out that it looks like it was offered as stock on the car. Has anyone seen another or can confirm this?

I have been trying to find a red lens light because I really don't like the white color of the lens......now I may have to keep this if it's really an OEM part

Someone needs to chime in here and let me know about this item

I sure haven’t seen one myself. But it appears to have been offered.

That is an OEM part from MINI. If you prefer red, why not get it? I think the clear lens was available as a dealer accessory.

You can't just swap out the lens. The entire light assembly is one piece. Looks to be offered as an option, at least that's how I am reading this

I've seen red tint spray paint. Might be worth a try.

Yea, I have seen that red tint paint as well, but at over $15 for one can, I will pass

If indeed I have a rare unicorn in this white light, I'm not going to paint it or take it off the car

I have the white my R52, it was a rare Genuine MINI option 99% of the R52s on the road had red. I like the white as it goes with my white boot stripes.

At the time of the R52 in Europe they had the old clear tali lights of the US pre 7/2004 and they wanted something that matched. So this was created. Well in 7/2004+ US cars we did not get those clear euro taillights(as they cars were wired to the new LCI platform, so they just kept the clear upper

You can still get the clear version and the red of course.

I have the euro 7/2004+ taillights also as my old one were cloudy. I think the clear uppers go good with it, I got the amber ones because thats what i liked.

I like the Euro rear tail lights as well.....especially the ones with the amber up top for the turn signals.

I would like to get a set, when I can afford them

Welcome, yep i like them and they seem to be holding up well. Dont see too many MINIs with them. Back in 2005-2006 I used to see them all the time.
