The time has come for me to part with my ’04 Mini Cooper S R53 6 speed manual slicktop (no sunroof!!). I bought this car a few years ago as a daily replacement that would get good mpg and still be fun to drive with the plan for it to eventually serve as my dedicated track car, but life had other plans and now I’m moving out west with no room for a 3rd car. This is why I looked specifically for a slicktop R53, because I am 6’3” and fit comfortably in this car with my helmet in 100% stock seating arrangement. When I bought the car it had a few issues (primarily needing a clutch) which is what prompted me to go though and update the majority of systems on the car. Even though the mileage is higher I'm confident in saying that the car is in great shape and doesnt "feel" like a high mileage car. This should be a complete list of what has been done to the car currently, feel free to ask me any questions about the car or any of the work done to it.
I’d be willing to meet up within a reasonable distance for a serious buyer.
Car is SOLD!

-Upgrade mods-
- Valeo single mass clutch and flywheel
- JCW (Teflon coated impellers) supercharger w/ new gaskets and oil and 17% pulley
- “Colder” NGK spark plugs and NGK wires
- Cold air intake (OEM inlet, Mugen heat shield, K&N 3” filter and modified cowl)
- “One-ball” exhaust by previous owner (deleted one of the 2 factory mufflers, still quiet)
- ST Coilovers (not “slammed” at all, currently at a pretty good ride height IMO)
- SPC fully adjustable camber plates (strut towers trimmed to allow for full adjustment- see pics)
- Polyuerethane front LCA bushings
- M7 Front strut tower bar (doubles as strut tower defenders)
- Megan adjustable rear control arms (to allow for camber adjustment)
- Full LED interior lighting
- Full custom stereo (sound quality focus w/o being too heavy)
- Bluetooth Kenwood receiver
- MB Quart speakers, front components and rear 6x9s
- Kenwood 5ch amp
- Memphis MC 10” sub
- Custom rear enclosure for amp/sub, costs almost no interior space at all

- Major Maintenance-
- Power steering pump, fluid and low-speed fan unit all replaced by Crown Mini of Richmond (all OEM parts and CHF fluid)
- Power steering reservoir and lines replaced
- Coolant overflow tank replaced
- Lower-rear motor mount replaced
- All front suspension joints replaced (ball-joints etc…)
- All intake system gaskets replaced
- Supercharger belt replaced (due to 17% pulley)
- Crank position sensor and seal replaced
- New-er Kuhmo tires (~60-70% left)

-Miscellaneous-
- Re-wrapped headliner (in OEM material)
- Front lights have Lamin-x protective coating
- Exterior trim in good shape (misc. pieces replaced when needed)
- Full OEM black respray, looks just as great in person as in the pics
- Factory Zenon HID headlights

-Cons-
- Only one factory key whose remote part is not in great shape
- Seeping oil cooler gasket (not even bad enough to dip to the floor)
- Torn CV boots, still tight and don’t make noise.

Just to clarify also, I still have all of the back seat hardware and can reinstall it if the buyer would like.

Unless it was done prior to me owning it (which it doesn't look like) the bottom end has never needed to be done.
The chain and guides were checked and looked fine with no abnormal wear, I think it was about 20K ago, Sorry I didn't make not of the mileage that I did that round of work.
I have considered throwing a new lower tensioner in there just for preventative good measure and would be happy do so if the buyer would like.

This is a really nice car. Love the triple black and slicktop; seems like a rare combo but it really works especially with black wheels. All the important things done with enough left over (CVs and subframe for bushings) to keep weekend wrenching interesting for a while. If you were on the other coast I'd be sorely tempted to grab it as a stable mate. Hope you do find it a good new home though, and have a bump...
