idatalink/flashlogic/omega all seem to be the same units owned by the same parent company.
Outside of that, I'm not overly familiar since I prefer manual transmissions and remote starters don't tend to be manual transmission friendly. On top of which, having had BMW's in the past, I'm aware of how finicky their electrical systems may be, so adding another parasitic drain on top of that isn't as appealing to me either. With MINI being owned/designed by BMW, I can only imagine the electrical system would be just as finicky.

Your search link does not work.
Looking at various threads shows a whole bunch of people that have never used a remote car starter in a manual vehicle. They are normal and common and are safe to use.... The normal method is that you tell the system to arm by pulling the parking brake twice. You then leave the car in neutral and remove the key. The remote starter system leaves the engine running. You leave the car and lock it. The system then turns the engine off, knowing it is safe to start it again. If you open a door before starting the engine, the system disables and you need to do the process again.
The question was to whether people had any issues or specific recommendations with these era BMWs.

@Red90
it’s been years since I’ve even bothered to look because in BMW derived vehicles, they were a bit more of a pain.
In the past, when I could find a willing installer, most of the systems they sold would require me losing a key and defeating one of the anti theft features of the car. It’s only been in recent years have I even considered the possibility since they’ve made the modules easier to install and work with manuals. Thing is, most still recommend them with autos anyways. Technically even in the past, you could use them with manuals but there was always a greater risk involved with liability. Manuals simply left more room for operator error.

Not sure why the link stopped working but in any event, try plugging in "Remote Starter" in the search box. There are quite a few threads discussing the installation of remote starters. Here's a thread where one member claimed he had a solution for a manual but it seems the work is very pricey...
