JCW Shift **** part 25112147229 on the R53

I juts receive a mini JCW carbon/leather shift ****, but for my surprise I think I ordered the wrong part, these are heavily discontinued everywhere

so not sure if its the correct part, the base plastic wont come off and doesn't go all the way in to clip in.

Does anyone know a way to hack this or I am stuck with a very nice JCW thing that has no use for my car?

thanks all.

The part I ordered is: 25112147229

some of you may know the problem I am describing here, attached is a picture of the ****, and the one I should have order instead.

Looks right to me - are you pushing down hard enough to get it to snap into place?

An R56 **** will fit a R53 but you would need a spacer for it. There is a thread here somewhere with the details. I made the spacer in anticipation for buying a R56 JCW **** but ended up getting the R53 one instead

there are 2 ways to make this work, 1st is to use the spacer and cut the half of the inside bottom of the JCW gear **** (picture 1)

but since I didn't use the spacer, I cut the stupid plastic on the stick shaft gave it a good hit, and thats all, looks and feel great. (picture 2)

option 2 no need the adaptor, I cut the stupid plastic with a sharp knife.
