Windows and turn signals not working

Replace battery myself and windows and turn signals stopped working. Took car to a full service shop (domestic and import cars) and they want $984 to replace the body control on passenger side but they do not guarantee it will fix the problem. Any suggestions??

the body control module is known to crap out when battery is reconnected. Check with the dealer to see if they can replace it under extended factory warranty. If not, look up the part number and buy a used one with a matching number. for the most part it is plug and play, BUT it is recommended to code it to your car which can be easily done with NCS expert.

I ran into this issue myself in August, took the car in for my Aquamist install and they killed the battery. When I picked up the car, windows, turns, dash lighting etc were not working. I think the dealer quoted me out ~$700 for the module and $250 in labor to replace it as it has to be coded to the vehicle. It's a common issue with these unfortunately, I found some info a while back that appeared to have narrowed it down to an issue in the boot sector of the FRM's E-PROM chip, could technically be fixed if you have the equipment to flash an E-PROM chip and could read out a working one.

I ended up ordering a new FRM from Outmotoring for $520 and coded it myself. Took a bit of trial and error to get the coding to work but once I got past it telling me the VIN was faulty after initially pushing to the FRM unit (have to disconnect and re-connect the battery to reset the module) everything went smoothly.
