P1237 after VGS Mod and no fans...
Hey all,
I have a 2005 S with around 66k miles on it and have been diagnosing some issues but seem to have created one along the way and would like some guidance.
Work:
installed Dorman fan relay
conducted VGS mod
Issues:
the car is now throwing code P1237 but doesn’t run rough or exhibit any other issues. It runs smooth and strong. I did notice that my slipping/power loss from 3-4K did go away it seems. Can the VGS mod highlight BPV issues to the computer indicating upstream pressure issues? I’m starting to think the BPV May have a bad spring.
Also, after the relay was installed.. I do not have either the low speed or the high speed fans and haven’t for a little while. I have noticed more recently that it gets crazy hot after even a short drive. I have not seen the low speed fan kick on since the relay was installed. I checked all fuses and they were all good. Is there anywhere else I should be checking?
Forgot to add.. the VGS mod seems to have highlighted a bucking issue when I let off the throttle regardless of WOT or just cruising. Any thoughts? I’m thinking rear engine mount or transmission mount but not sure. I have feeling this bucking before this weekend but not as extreme. Hoping to find a solution soon.
Thanks!

As far as the Fan issues, simply go back and double check all of your wiring, it can be simple to just have accidentally missed or reversed something, and if need be, hot wire the Fan to be certain it is still functioning.
For the 1237 code and BPV issues, make sure you didn't accidentally pull another vacuum line loose when you did the VGS mod, also look carefully at the hard vacuum lines to the SC, they can get brittle and movement can cause cracks if this is the case.
As for a spring issue with the BPV itself, simply zip tie it shut and see if the issues still persist, the car should run just fine with it held closed, it's just not recommended to keep it that way for too long, a drop in fuel millage and other issues could come about from a permanently closed BPV.

Ok I re-wired the connector and the fan works! I no longer have a SES light on the display but I am feeling an abrupt kind of shudder when I lift off of the throttle. Also the supercharger has a different note at lower RPMs. I plan on zip-tying the BPV tomorrow and seeing if this changes anything. Under mild acceleration it feels like the revs want to keep climbing once I lift off the throttle. Not sure how to explain it really.. hoping someone had this same issue that can chime in in areas to look at. Thanks!
