P1125 Code and noise on passenger side at idle and under acceleration

I am not sure if this noise was always there but it seems to be getting worse. I am not sure if it's an alternator bearing or tensioner/idler etc. I recently replaced it with a new off brand from Amazon due to destroying the old one after pressure washing the engine in that area. It was a cheapo, but new.

Like I said, not sure when it started. Sounds like a vehicle which is low on power steering fluid, but the noise doesn't get louder when I turn the wheels.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Thanks so far. Any chance that it could also be the idler?

I agree. Inspect all your pulleys.

So last night something gave up the ghost. Kind of a mild clanging noise down there now. Also getting a p1125 code at the same time for throttle body or gas pedal.

Any idea how these two can be related or just an incredible coincidence?

I put my money on the crank pulley separating. Get down there and take a look.

Thanks again. The idler is in terrible shape.

What am I looking for as far as the crank pulley. I see nothing out of the ordinary when it is spinning and the car is so quiet now....without the belt anyways. Looks like a pain in the neck to remove and reinstall just to check.

On some cars it is pretty obvious when the cp separates.

How about the mini?

Also, the pulley looks pretty new and says AEM on it. I assume this is the stocker?

Since the crank pulley says AEM, it is not stock and probably not the culprit. The stock one has no writing on it. The idler is probably your problem. The code may or may not have anything to do with the pulley issue.

I was poking around and it looks like the 2004+ pulley does seem to say AEM on it in small letters. The 04+ is supposed to be the better of the two so I will go with it not being the culprit at least for now. See the small AEM letters at about 9 o'clock on the pulley.

I was just about to order the idler and reached up the tensioner pulley and found it dented on the edge. This is getting stranger!

Replacing the tensioner looks like somewhat of a pain in the neck.
