2011 Clubman S quit on me (HPFP?)
My wife's 2011 clubman s quit on me last night after driving about 5 miles. I coasted to a stop and tried to restart it had locked a code I checked it later and it was for for fuel rail pressure p0087. After about 20 min. it started and ran fine for another 6 miles and sputtered and quit. I coasted into a parking lot but this time it would not start. It would sputter and try and start then die. No code this time. I had it towed to my shop (2 blocks thank you AAA) This morning it started and ran just fine. Drove it around the neighbor hood no problems but not more than a mile or so. OK any Ideas gang.
Ok I replaced the HPFP I drove the car about 4 miles and it died again half power engine light came on and in stead of going into reduced power mode it quit. I coasted into a parking lot and it won't start. It tries, runs ruff kind of chugs like it's not getting fuel and dies.
More info. So this morning I gi in and it starts right up so I ran the RPMs up to about 4000 and held it revved the engine up and dropped back to 4000 after about 2 min. it went into half power. I held it there then let it drop to idle. the light went out and it revved back up. I was able to make it repeat this again after a min. or so. one time I let it idle and it ran ruff and died. I found the relay in the kick panel to be ally hot to the touch. It is not showing any codes but I do need to find a reader that will read the BMW codes. Any ideas? I need to find someone ion Corpus Christi TX. the can do a diagnostic.
Now I need to go get my dwarf car ready for Saturday night at the dirt track.

I might want to check out that really hot relay as that might become a more serious issue. I'd be curious as to what that relay was running.
Also see if you had this recall done, https://www.wheels.ca/news/235500-mi...o-fire-hazard/

The relay in the passenger kick panel (JBE) controls things such as the sunroof, etc and is always warm.
