Will a 2011 motor work on my 2008

I have a 2008 mini cooper hardtop NON S. It needs a new motor. I found a motor from a 2011 NON S. Will this motor work with no issues?

NO... 2011 was the first year of the n16...you have an N12. Completely different animals. Single cam variable timing vs dual vct, direct injection and the list goes on.

actually, both engines are VERY similar. the only difference is the oil pump and the oil filter housing assembly where the oil sensor mounts.
