Replacement Subs 2019 Convertible (base)

So, I have a 2019 Mini Convertible (base) model. I purchased the Bavsound speakers for the door, and backseat, but have yet to purchase the subwoofer. When I was replacing my side speakers I pulled the rear seat as required, and noticed only one subwoofer. There is no other place for a subwoofer. I looked at Bavsound and they sell them in 2’s. I contacted them and asked them why I needed two. They said I had two speakers. Unless I am missing a hidden speaker, there is only one, or they are stacked on top of each other, which I know is not the way they are done. I am not a rookie at taking stuff apart and putting it back together. I have always done my own (well almost always) sound upgrade in my cars. Can anyone help? Is there a speaker hidden that I am missing? Thanks in advance...

There are 2 woofers under the front seats. I think you saw what looked like a sub under the rear seat.

1st pic in that thread shows it. looks like a panel to the gas tank. Look under your front seats and you see the grills for the woofers.
How do you like the bavsound speakers? Been really considering grabbing a set.

Gavin, thanks for the info. I will check it out today. As for the Bavsound speakers, they are much more clean, clear and crisp in their sound quality. I will post when I install the subs...

BavSound, if you are going from base stereo and upgrading you will probably enjoy the upgrade. If you have an HK you probably need more power first instead of new speakers. You can also look at https://www.parts-express.com/grs-b2...-ohms--292-494 They have 2 & 4 ohm versions. Wish they had these when I bought my BavSounds. Half the price.

Parts express has some nice products at great prices, usually a lot cheaper than competing brands. No I don't work for them. I just bought DSP, sub and amp.

Thanks Mini, I do have the basic sound system. I did find the speakers under the seats too. The problem is the video from Bavsound is misleading as it make it appear the subs are under the back seat. I found what looks exactly like what they removed in the video...pretty sure it is. My car must not use that speaker mount. I will look at the speakers you spoke about.

Now, I am guessing I have to remove the seats to replace these speakers...which I know is not a 15 minute replacement like the video says.

Thanks

I replaced 2 x front under seat subwoofers with basic hand tools. First one took 30-40 mins as I'm a newbie. then 2nd one took 15-20 mins. so it's much much easier that actual speaker replacements.

Isugoo thanks for the info. Did you use a torque wrench on the seats?

No, I just used basic hand tools. I made sure seats are tighter so it doesn't move and rest of subwoofer tight enough so it doesn't move but I don't break it either. =)
