Would a AT to MT conversion be worth it on my cheap Cooper S?

So I got my hands on a low mileage 2010 cooper s with a bad motor for around a $1000. Only downside is that it's an auto. I also have a salvaged donor car that's smacked up cosmetically. It's also a low mileage car but it has a six speed in it. My original goal was to just swap the engine over but i've been thinking a lot and was wondering if a manual swap would be worth it? I've pulled many engines (few mini's too) but never attempted a conversion. I could use all the ECUs and wire harnesses from the donor. Or should I just throw the good engine in and call it a day? The only reason i'm considering this is because I think it would be a lot of fun to own one of these cars with a proper gearbox for cheap.

Will everything just swap over as easy as I make it seem?

My buddy GT350, a member here, has done the swap.

Here is his journey https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...swap-prep.html
