So how exactly does this work? I’ve been trying to find a way to connect my phone to the cars radio via bluetooth and I already have a bluetooth streamer that connects to auxiliary for my other car. Is this a plug and play?
For reference I have the HK System and it has an iPod connector but it is destroyed unfortunately.

Hi Marine Blue, this AUX cable plugs directly into the back of the radio harness (minimal installation) and ultimately gives you an auxiliary (headphone style receiver) jack to plug any device you'd like into.
For your application, with a male to male AUX cable you could plug your phone directly into this AUX jack, or you could plug in a bluetooth adapter.
This AUX jack is compatible with both standard and Harmon Kardon Mini radios, and with navigation and Mini Cooper ipod connectors.

Thanks for the explanation! I would much rather have an iPod connector as I know there are some Bluetooth connectors that can connect to it without needing a charge. The pin connector that plugs into the iPod on our car is damaged and wont plug into the iPod. I would need to replace the entire capable with the connections on both ends. Please let me know if you have one, otherwise I’ll take the AUX connection.

JfyI. I just installed an aux cable and to access the back of the radio head unit took 5minutes only...I was happy because some cars it's a huge hassle . But the mini was a breeze .here's a video that might help .

PM sent on the Aux port, I think it will end up costing less in the end compared to the Apple connector and it will give me more flexibility for bluetooth.
