2004 Justa MINI with the 5 speed manual transmission, shouldn’t the lights be lit between 5500 and 6500 RPM, like the red ones are from 6500 to 8000? Are they supposed to be amber?

Are these LED’s or a bulb? Thanks, Dan

If you exceed approximately 6,750 RPM you risk damage to the engine, hence the term 'red-line.'

Thanks for that --- I had been trying to work out the increments and reading your post it finally clicked with me.

Each small hashmark = 250

Your car doesn't have a 5500 redline. The unlit segments are for the lower rpm of the diesel engine in Europe.

^^ This ^^

I too, wish they would have given us yellow from 5500-6750 then red above.
Esp. if it could have been incremental, like the JCW shift light.

5500-6750 should be green for go, to tell you you're operating right where you should be.

Lol, , since my redline is set at 7800 right now, I just figure the red lights mean "bringing the full heat"....

Ah, that’s the answer! So... can I get those other lights turned on via a programmer and tell my daughter that’s where the redline really is?
