2010 oem radio, acquiring sat error

Just got a 2010 mini with Harmon stereo, all stock. I was going to add the Sat Sirius to the stereo but when I go to Sat, it just stays on acquiring signal. I have no way to get the serial number to even give to Sirius to try and send a signal. No preview channel, just a continuous acquiring signal. I tried the ideas I found about turning it off and on, removing the key, sequence, etc. But nothing fixes it. Normal FM reception seems ok. Based on that, I assume the antenna is ok?

Any ideas? Any way to double check the antenna? I need to remove the speedo anyway to replace a cracked lens. If I got another radio from a Gen 2, will it be plug and play? Not the end of the world to not have Sat radio but would be nice.

Any help is appreciated. Any members have a stock radio that sat works willing to let me try it or sell it to me? I'll buy or pay shipping both ways to try it out.

thanks,

Replaced Radio, that didn't fix it. (known working unit)
Replaced Sat receiver antenna under the seat, that didn't fix it. (known working unit)
What next, replace Sat Receiver, or check for software update?
Any ideas, appreciated.
