Vacuum leak P1498?

Hey smart guys, I need some help.
my SES and EML light have been coming on and off, sometimes one, sometimes the other, sometimes both, and sometimes neither. I replaced the intercooler boots ((with OEM boots) as my old ones looked worn and cracked. This did not fix the issue. I didn't notice any lack of power until recently but it's possible I'm just imagining it. My code reader keeps pulling P1498. I have been told this is a vacuum leak code, but not sure how to pinpoint it. The issue first started at the end of my first track day, so I was definitely driving it hard. I'd really appreciate any help, the car is my daily driver. and I am doing 100-mile commute a day.

Would PM the guy at this point; still listed as 'neutral' tier board member after 4 years. Also, since he was tracking his daily driver, somehow doubt he kept it long after this.

IIRC, P1498 is an uncontrolled downstream air flow, I got this when my IC welds died. Try pulling the IC cover off and check the welds along the upstream side Where the fins contact the housing, that's where mine failed. I was able to fix it short-term with high temperature epoxy. If you pull the IC off and fill and smooth the high temp epoxy from inside and outside it'll last a lot longer, I was lazy and just did it from the outside, it eventually cracked and blew the filler out again.
HTH,

Fault code P1498 (Unmetered air after compressor) is stored in DME. The plastic inlet duct at the supercharger has separated at the weld point, and is leaking.

You can also check the plastic portion that connects with the throttle body. They crack easy.

Exploding coolant tanks and coolant connectors, crank shaft pulley, supercharger intake plenum, fan resistor, clutch slaves, control arm bushings, every gasket and seal from valve cover to pan, leather upholstery stitching, and now this.

Is there anything on these cars not made from s**t materials?

When I did the alternator I glanced at it but couldn't see any obvious cracks. I couldn't see the other side though.

HTH,
Easy enough, I'll give this a shot tonight. You're talking about the welds at the ends of the IC that the boots clamp onto right?

Honestly. If I didn't love this car so much I would have sold it a long time ago.

I know you gave the code of your problem, but what where the symptoms if any? Years ago I had the same thing , but mine only happened under high RPM . Like going down the freeway. It would just quit running. Still going down the road I could start it and run for a while then quit again.

Mine only pops this code, when it’s below 35 degrees and when slowing down. Turn car off and and on and it clears. Intercooler boots were replaced. I’ll probably find it when I do supercharger service, but till then I too would love to know.

I have no driveability issues. It's just the code. Mine only pops on when the engine is idling though. Any rpm above that and it's never been an issue. Turning the car off and on clears it.

In that scenario the supercharger is bypassed, not entirely; the bypass valve allows a little through, for cooling, how much is not clear. If it's allowing too much through (diaphragm or vacuum line leaking, another inferior material / design weakness issue) might that trip the code?
