Anyone order the IceLink Plus yet?
Hey guys, Happy Thanksgiving!
I just found out about the IceLink Plus and think it is the ultimate and best solution! Has anyone ordered their's already? I really would like to order, because I think they might sell out. If you guys have ordered, which mounting option are you going for and do you know anything about installation and mounting? Allright, thanks guys! Ice-Link plus forum, right here.

Sounds like direct competition for Desion and the iceLink.
That ICE Link Plus looks like the perfect iPod interface. It looks like it kicks the factory ipod/mini adapters butt. I'll be ordering it forsure.

Anyone order the Icelink Plus yet
Hey all!
I have had the icelink installed in my Cooper "S" since May of 04. Have a 3rd Gen Ipod and have had no flaws/troubles. Ordered the "proclip" along, an feel this is the best way for #1 switching to different playlists, and different tracks. The icelink allows all the back radio controls found on the steering wheel to be used, and also if needed to switch to the head units disc, or radio.
The icelink charges the ipod along he way. I had looked into the dealer installing their stock ipod but i didnot want the ipod in the glove compartment because i could not see the the different tracks, or playlists i have.
For the install, they include instructions. If concerened take the car/ipod/icelink to a high end car audio tech. and they can do it in less then an hour. Just t remember to nhook the battery terminal and re-hook for this to work properly.
Just my opinion, happy motoring!

BTW: 03 cooper "S" Black/black, white roof, driving lights, dual sun roofs.

Well, it's not as hard as you might think, but it basically involves taking your stock head unit off and plugging in an extra wiring harness.
Here's a really good How-To on the original Ice Link:

Hope that helps!

the details i've been able to gleem are a little fuzzy to me still. is it true that with the IceLink Plus we'll now be able to see the song info on the factory hu? And...that we'll be able to use all our playlists instead of just a few?

My only concern is the function of the iPod while in use with the unit. I wonder if it is hard to control and such. Anyways, I think the iPod goes into a certain mode and you cannot function the iPod by using the iPod controls, only radio controls. This might be tough when looking for an artist/album you would like the hear that isn't readily available. If this is true, it would probably be a better route to use just the plug instead of the cradle... because you don't need to access the iPod. What do you all think? Anyone have any specifics on the actual controls of this or the Monster iCruze? Anyone going with the iCruze over the IceLink+? I really want either of the two...

If you have the MFSW, you should be able to Navigate the iPod that way, instead of having to fiddle with the radio to do it... Given that the display on the radio is bigger and easier to read than the iPod's this would seem to be a safe way to do your searching. Even if only one line of text is displayed at a time, the large size of the radio display is easier and faster to read than the iPod display.
True, but it would still be nice to have that option if you maybe wanted to switch it up to a completely different playlist. Say, at a light or while stopped?
I agree with you otherwise though
