New classic mini - few questions for yall

I have a 1990 rover mini. I totally love it. Its RHD and just a blast.
I am totally new to this car so please excuse some of the newbie questions.

1) Does anyone have a link to amazon where I can buy filters for this beauty? I want to do my first oil change.
2) The center cap of the steering wheel is missing. I tried finding one that would fit, but cant. Can anybody help with this?
3) Getting into gear is something a little rough and the gears grind sometimes. What can be done about this?
4) Will people ever stop giving me thumbs ups and taking pictures?!

Thanks everyone!

1) Cross reference for your preference. Mini Seven Oil Filters

2) I don't have a good answer for this, the one from my car doesn't stay on so I just don't use it.

3) Read this: Mini Gearbox Types

Then search for the parts you need. Your car *should* have a rod change gearbox. Verify and then go from there.

4) No. It's mildly annoying at times.

I'm assuming your car is a Japanese Domestic Market car. There are some differences that can exist between the JDM Rovers and other Minis, do your research.

Since the favorite JDM cars (R32 Skyline, Mazda Eunos, etc) have become importable under US law they have been throwing Minis on the boats with them. Almost everything branded Rover from the late 80s into the 90s that are popping up are Japanese cars.

I googled rover mini parts .....

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001039Rover Mini Steering Wheel Pad and Badges

https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-NAM6495PA

... unsolicited editorial comment .... I suspect this is going to be the first of many difficult part searches when the part is Rover specific. The Mini part places I use don't have much when it comes to Rover unique bits and pieces ... nor much for Spi and Mpi motors for that matter. You may have to be looking at UK sources rather than the major US players like MiniMania and Seven .... I'm just mention what I've observed but when someone asks me about buying a Rover Mini it is a point I bring up ....

p.s. saw this in the classics forum at SUNSHINEMINIS.ORG : I have a pdf of the rover factory manual for the newer.92, Minis. If you need it, or part of it. Let me know.

for the shifting the first thing I'd do is an oil change!

You do know that one of the unique things about the 'classic Mini' is that the (manual) gearbox is also the oil pan?

I checked the service manual for your car and recommend you stay with 20W/50 (dino)

that is why it requires a regular oil and filter charge
