Need a pic of the JCW badge on the rear boot lid for R52

I guess there was supposed to be a John Cooper Works metal badge on the rear boot lid of my car.....the front is there, the rear is not.....

I need a pic and measurements of the correct badge and placement on a convertible JCW car in 2006

The measurements I need of the badge are length & width of the badge......I need to find one.....mine is MIA

Found a nice big pic here:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-8k-miles.html

The part # for the rear badge is:
51147175102

Be prepared though, I was gobsmacked to discover that they're very expensive as new from the dealer. I was in the same boat and missing the rear emblem, around $95 is the best price online for new, used ones regularly sell for around $50.

They are difficult to find because the new style logo dominates, however, there was someone here (can't search for the thread offhand but I know I read it) who found an early kit (both front & rear badges) for $11.95 buy-it-now on ebay --- part# 51140301254 and NLA and a miracle to find for such a wonderful price, I was jealous when I read about his great find!

I shelled out $100 for mine and feel a bit silly, but hey I'm happy.

I found a number of the badges on eBay & Amazon........but like you said, the new style font is all I can find.....I really don't care about the old vs new style, I'm not making a 100% restoration show car with this R52 anyway.....what i really need are the length & width measurements of the OE style badge back there on the lid

I assume that the OE badges are just stick on with tape? I don't see any holes on my boot lid for attachment ......

Yes, it's just sticky tape.

I did find the original ebay auction that the NAM member recently won:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/John-Cooper-Works-Badging-NOS-51140301254-/163118032302?nma=true&si=cSe2iblvuLLUFPsR8I6JZb9e5 tc%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2 047675.l2557

Need a pic of the JCW badge on the rear boot lid for R52-d88z5tf.jpg

Would love a link to that thread if anyone has a clue about it because he included updated pix along with mounting instructions --- it was cool to see the whole original kit!

The reason I changed mine out is because the original owner had replaced his with a cheap ebay replica which was the new logo,
it was badly faded and poorly made, plus I prefer the old logo anyway, so I bit the bullet.

I'm unsure of the dimensions offhand but will put a caliper to it if nobody else reponds.

Yea, I did a search of the old part number that you posted, I saw that eBay auction that ended for $12...... what a deal......

If you could get me a measurement of the length, that would be great..... I really don't care about early or late badge, most won't know the difference anyway..... I just want something back there so the little rice burners know who they are messing with when this car gets on the road

Anyone wanna take that green mini pic and share measurements to body panel gaps for the positioning the mini badge, cooper s and jcw logo. Its weird the cooper s is centered between tail and handle and the jcw isnt.

i bought a ebay jcw logo for the front aero grille and it was pretty good quality, and just about 10-20% larger than the oem one that was there. I liked it so much i bought a second one for my passenger dash piece.

Amazon Amazon

I got my JCW rear boot badge today from eBay.....came from overseas, price was $10.50......the badge is quite heavy...I hope the tape holds it on

Badge measures 5-1/4" long......and before anyone says that it's not the "correct badge" for my '06 R52....I really don't care, this is not a 100% point show restoration car....it's just a driver.....

One more part down, many more to go.....

I really like the old design badge which ia have on my R52, its like a solid peiece of stamped metal compared to the 2007+ version.
