Need pic of JCW grille badge backing

I recently purchased a stage 1 kit from Morristown and had it installed locally. Unfortunately, the kit lacked the backing strip for the JCW logo grille badge. Can someone post a pic of one so I can rig something up. Morristown was no help resolving the issue.

Incidently, when I had the kit installed, the tech told me the disk in the kit wasn't the proper disk - someone had broken the MINI USA seal and replaced the disk with a used, scratched disk. Luckily he was able to extract the proper codes for my vehicle. Be aware. Check your kit thoroughly when you receive it.

Worst case senario I'll just use a couple of fender washers or something similar, but a pic would satisfy my curiosity.

Couldn't find any suitable backing at Lowes.

How about a brief description? material? dimensions?

the front grill badge is not attached with backing strips. It is attached from behind with screw on fasteners. Requires removing grill to gain access.

Yes, I know it is attached with studs through the grille, then a backing plate (at least that's what I was told by MINI), then the locknuts. The backing plate gives the studs something to attach to.

You could easily fasten it to the grille with a couple of washers and some C clips. Or, find those cap style nuts that you screw on to soft metal posts and it actually threads as it goes on. Most auto parts stores have an assortment of these kinds of nuts.

Are you talking for the front? If so, just use a washer for each stud? If you need pics, I'll pull my grille and take a pic of the backing plate.

Personally, I wouldn't go through the effort... if you insist, just get a thin strip of metal.

I'm lost. The disc is programmed with your VIN# only. How could someone replace it with something else... it wouldn't work. Each disc is VIN dependent.

Just wondering.

Good question. My understanding from my discussion with the service rep is the VIN # is used to reference the vehicle's setup and options and then provide the proper codes to extract fron the disk for the ECU based on my paticular vehicle. My disk was not VIN specific for my vehicle, but the tech was able to extract the proper codes to reprogram the ECU properly.
