Crispy Mini Lives!!!

The engine on the MINI started last night after many months of work. It took a bit of encouragement at the beginning to get it started but now it starts without any problem. I found several new problems but not nearly as many as i had expected. The radiator has a small leak that i have to get fixed and i still have to put the front end and the exhaust on to have it moving. It sounded like a harly davidson without the exhaust on at idle... pretty cool... ill try to put some updates to the site up soon. I have learned a ton from this project and couldnt have done it without all your help.

thanks
Jon

Yes, excellent work, I have been anticipating an update on your website....

It has inspired me to do more work on my cars myself.

Way to go brother!

Congrats on the start-up . I give you credit, you have taken a daunting task and followed through all the way.

Great images on your web site too! I was wondering what the innards looked like. Gives me much more appreciation for my own Indi Blue MINI !

Aloha and good luck!

I've been following along quietly and all I can say is:

WAY TO GO!!!

I had similar fun rebuilding a motor for an old BMW I own and doing a tranny upgrade at the same time. But I had ten years on ya.

Good on ya, man!!!

Future MINI Tech

Hey Jon!-

You should think about submitting your resume to your local MINI service department. Better yet, apply for plant manager at the Tritec Motors plant in Campo Largo Barzil!

Aloha and CONGRATS again!

Absolutely Awesome!
I hadn't checked your site in months. Back when you started, I thought this was going to be intense. It looks like it has been, and you've just done an amazing job. That first drive is going to be so cool. Stay calm though. Finish the job with the same patience that you've had throughout, and do it right. Looks like you're almost there!!

Man, pretty amazing.

You should at least write or call MINI USA as I would think they would be interested in this as it shows the lenghts of devotion of some MINI fans. If your lucky, thy might just give you some stuff.

Been following your photos and threads. I am impressed and thrilled for you! All the more satisfying for you given the blood, sweat and tears you're putting into your MINI! Bravo!

Wow!!!!!!!! What an accomplishment bringing your Mini back to life. MiniUSA should certify you as a master technician so that you can open the first independent certified shop. Naw, forget MiniUSA, call John Copper Garage and open up one in the USA.
