Drivetrain JCW and JB4. Enlighten Me Please
JCW and JB4. Enlighten Me Please
Welp at long last the Elite module is in the mail headed back to DINAN. Once they confirm they have it I'll be getting a refund. This leaves me with...now what?
I was so going to go Bytetronic but I'm just not sure on killing the warranty. The car is a lease and if I flip the lease onto someone else I'd feel terrible if they had a problem and were out of a warranty. Also, I'd rather not lose the warranty either. If it was Byte or stock I'd probably go for it but now I'm curious about the JB4..
Terry Burger is also a C7Z06 guy like myself and I was extremely impressed with him on the Corvette Forum. All data, no BS. Because of that I plan on going with him instead of the more popular NM module. I don't care how quick or difficult a piggyback install is. They're all easy. With my incessant Googling I haven't found much info on a factory JCW running the JB4 mainly a bunch of S and JCW tuning kits.
Does the JB4 make much of a difference on the JCW? Boost aside what's the difference with the JCW and an S? Essentially I'm asking would an S and a JCW both with a JB4 run the same? Is the ceiling the same for both cars that they get tuned to or is it that either car gets an additional 6lbs over stock and therefor the JCW makes more than an S? Anyone know what the stock PSI is on these things anyway? I've been doing some Vbox Sport logging and thus far I've gotten a best of 5.63 0-60. Of course I've got a ton of other to and from datapoints but that's all for another thread. I always run 93 and the car is currently stock. Planning on Map 2ing it.
So yeah what's the deal I'm still new to this car. If you can't go DINAN or true tune, how is the JB4 on these things?
Thanks!
All the best,
Gene

I have a JCW with the JB4 and you instantly notice a power difference. It is the additional 4lbs over stock. So in theory a JCW with JB4 against a S with JB4 the JCW should be faster.
Since your car is stock stick with Map 1. Map 2 is only if you have a down pipe to handle the additional exhaust flow.
