MINI Fog Light Accessory...anyone have hands on experience?

Hey everyone,

I want to possibly install these MINI accessory fog lights on my F55 7 Line with Halogen Fog Lights. Has anyone installed these and if so do you have any advice or information you'd like to share? Also, is the new fog light installed with this accessory LED or still halogen?

Any advice appreciated!

Looking for fashion, or function?

For that kind of cash, and function, I would install the real rally lights.

Appreciate that, but I'm really looking for the LED look and LED fogs to accentuate my halogens. I like the rally lights but they clutter the grille in my opinion. But thanks for the response!

I like those fogs! Would make awesome DRL's for us that have the lowly halogen headlights.

You can also get them here for almost $100 off the Mini price. This is where I order all of my OEM parts from: https://www.minipartsmass.com/parts/...&siteid=215989

Those are LED fog lights / DRLs.

I installed the comparable version into my R55, and they are fantastic.

Nice, any pics to share? Would love to see them on a real life installation!

I’ll try to get some pictures, but they are difficult to capture through the camera.

Here is a thread with more information on the R56/55/57/58 versions:

So...I got a quote from my dealer of nearly a grand for this. Ugh.

Anyone know a licensed tech in the Los Angeles area who will install them if I buy them for below market price? I really want them, but won't pay triple the retail price I can buy them at for them. Ugh.

I added those a few years ago to a 14 CM. You need the MINI instructions to install. Which do not come in the box! They are usually floating around somewhere. It takes a long time!

Not knowing how to do it it took four hours to just remove and install the lights in the bumper. You need to drop the front bumper which requires you to remove the front fasteners of the wheel panel trim towards bumper (not hard just time consuming, you need star torque sockets, and some of the plastic pop rivet fasteners break so it is helpful to have extra ready. Any of the screw fastners are easily reused. Anyone telling you that you can slip your hand in is wrong--as it is too tight with the windshield wiper fluid reservoir.

The actual wiring took another four hours as you need to wire to the main fuse block in the engine. Not hard. Fishing the wires from the the engine compartment into the cabin is time consuming. Then tapping the wires into the black module is time consuming under the dash. As you need to remove the floor trim to remove the side panel. I posted photos and instructions for the CM years ago. For my F55 19, which already has LED fogs--it is not worth it not to mention even a smaller space to work with,

Last, one of the fog rings burnt out and I needed to replace it with a replacement unit--which took a month for MINI to replace. Since they would not replace it without taking it out first. Easier the second time (to remove) and third time (to replace and swap out lamp).

Ugh, one of mine went out, too. Glad I'm not the only one who had that happen. I ended up disconnecting the DRL wire, and coding the car to run the fog lights as DRL.
