@75k. And An Oil Filter Housing Gasket PLEASE.

Went in for standard 5k oil change. As always I ask MINI to go over my Countryman S. I was noticing a bit more oil consumption towards the end of this cycle. Well a few hours go by and I am out enjoying a 2018 Clubman {Always schedule Oil change for day off w/ loaner} and I get the call. Its leaking.
No worries Warranty Item. Keeping the clubman for a few more days.
The real reason for the post is to help document when these bad boys let go. I say mines right about normal 50-75k range? Seems like a common problem. Any stories or tid bits to chime in feel free. I am a "long hauler" if you will. No plans on selling my 2011 Countryman S. Any info to throw at the dealer would be welcomed. Or shared experience's with this. I will update the cost for this. I am in the Bay Area.

PM
As Promised Price update 1287 USD.
Whew warranty saves the bacon AGAIN.

are you referring to the rubber O-ring that seals the filter cap to the base unit ? i replace mine with every oil change filter replacement, it comes with the kit.

Take a look there. And I wish it was that simple.... No This is a Four to Six hour tear down from what i understand. And the more I research the more people I hear about having this issue. Common if you will.

Yes, its a big job but it can be done. If you done it before or have someone who has you can knock it out in less time. I seen those gaskets need done at 130K and at 80K and under. Mine went at about the 120K if i remember right. I did some other things while i was in there like the oil lines and then a coolant flush/oil change. So it was multiple things checked off the list.
