Hi, the rear window washer on my 2003 R53 stopped working. I can hear the motor working. It sounds like it's coming from the front. Is there only one washer pump? I found a connection in the washer line under the hood that looked like it ran to the back of the car and disconnected it.
Then when I operated the rear window washer fluid would squirt out one end. Does the other end run all the way to the rear of the car? I've tried flipping up the cover on the rear wiper and poking it out with a wire. I've tried 50 psi compressed air on the washer tube that appears to run to the back of the car. Anything else I can try?
There is only one pump for front and back. Very smart (and some will criticize as dumb) design as it utilize the rotation directions of the same DC motor, in conjunction with 2 check valves. You should not run 50 PSI pressure into the poor tubes.
On mine, the shaft from the motor through the window to the wiper arm had rusted and clogged. I managed to get a piece of wire through and unclog it but it has done it again.
Personally, I recommend changing it out for a newer one. Any wiper from a Mini with a single back window will fit, but you might need to get the motor and wiper arm depending on which you have.
I remember when there was a rubber ball you stepped on that then pushed water to the windshield.
And for you smarties out there, no I am not old enough to remember a hand crank starter on a car, but did use a steering wheel crank to start the old John Deere.
I rode in my high school friend's (not so buddy as I later realized his father must be an Italian mafia) Citroën Maserati. Guess what? It has a rubber bulb as a brake pedal. We had some fun together with cars. His father had many collectables including Maserati GT cars, a Ferrari Daytona, and BMWs. Because of him I got to use the professional valve grinding equipment to resurface the valves of my Fiat 124 Sports Coupe at Tony's Garage as all the staff there were Italians.

I don't think you got your question answered!
Flip up the cover on the wiper.
Poke a piece of flexible wire down the exposed nozzle - a bicycle brake cable is ideal - some folks have had to drill the rust out.
Stock up on washer fluid & flush the system well - you should get a good rooster-tail from the nozzle.

Repeat every few months!
Thanks for the save, old people sometimes go off the course, but the rubber bulb brake pedal picture was worth the journey.
