Rear window washer help

I recently noticed that my rear washer nozzle wasn't spraying onto the glass. I used a screwdriver to turn the nozzle toward the glass and had my wife hit the switch. It seems that no matter where I point the nozzle it doesn't spray correctly. Is there a trick to it?

Have you noticed if the water hits the glass when you are driving your MINI? Maybe the same suction that sucks all the dirt onto the back of the car also sucks the water on the window.

If it was working and now is not, check for obstructions in the nozzle. I had to re-aim mine when it was new but it has held its aim since then. It did take a little fiddling to get it aimed just right. Whether you are moving or stationary the aim seems to be the same.

If there is an obstruction, it will have to be replaced.

The fluid does spray but it hits just above the arm and not higher on the glass where the wiper blade sweeps.

Sounds like to me that the tiny-little nozzle has an obstruction in it.

Samething happenend to me the first time I had the car out on a filty winter's day, except mine did'nt work at all.

Try removing the nozzle, it pops-off very easily, but be very careful not to drop it, 'cause it's so small, that if it hits the ground, it just might dissapear. Than try cleaning it out with a small wire or flushing it with warm water, but remember to put a plug in the drain of the sink. You can than hold it up to a light to see if its clear.

I had a similar problem (not on a MINI) but the nozzle was clogged and wouldn't spray correctly.

I pulled it off and soaked it in vinegar, then used compressed air to clear it out. Worked like a charm, and I didn't have to worry about augering out the holes by using a nail or tack. Just hold on to it firmly when you hit the compressed air, oh, and point it away from you since what ever is in there will come shooting out at your face

I bet if you don't have a compressor, that a can of air for cleaning computers would work just as well.
