rare 4 piece carbon fiber dash for an r53. This kit did not have the steering wheel insert as it was the two spoke wheel with the controls on the back. PM for questions. Located in CO

You all are correct. I am missing the airbag cover for the passenger side. I will put this post on delay momentarily to see if i can find that other piece. Im sure i have it.

Shouldn't this be a 5 piece kit which includes the airbag surround also?

 

Maybe it is because i have the year wrong but no it is a 4 peice set. As stated this is for the two prong steering wheel that has the radio controls on the back of the steering wheel. The other set is considered a 5 peice set if i remember right but it is for the next year

 

He said he doesnt have it, but you can get covers on ebay.

 

It's four pieces of a five piece set. The airbag piece is missing, not the steering controls. Watching in case the price drops so I can pickup spares for my set.

I have had both configurations.

 

Guessing it came out of a crashed MINI that had airbag deployed, why that piece is missing from this sale. Once deployed, the pass side panel has a permanent break-away from panel rendering it unusable, and replacement ones are NLA.

 

I thought something was missing.. Thanks for pointing out the missing piece.

 

Good point on this. Never deployed my airbag, but it is odd that i cant find it anywhere. Time to scour the house to find it!

 

I was being dumb and didn't realize what you meant until i looked at the dash picture myself. Will be searching for the missing piece tonight. If i can't find it we can talk part out.

 

Any luck locating the missing piece?
