Thrilled New Owner
Hello!
I'm new to MINI and, by extension, this forum. I've been driving my 2005 Cooper S for two weeks now and I am completely in love with it. I have never in my life enjoyed driving so much. In one fell swoop I've become a MINI nut -- I've already ordered the glovebox organizer and an 'S' keychain, plus I've picked up some diodes for the brake light tweak. Coming soon will be a few more utilitarian goodies like the parcel shelf and that sweet, sweet auto-up window feature. Before this car I wouldn't even bother with an extra cupholder. Now, I want to spoil this car.
I've also never experienced such a community feeling before. Every single other MINI owner I pass on the road has waved at me. What a sense of family!
Those of you waiting on the boat -- it's worth the wait. I had to hold out for two weeks, as customs took their time, but I can say the day the dealer calls you is that much sweeter.
Just wanted to say Hi, and I hope to learn a lot more about MINIs here. *waves*

Welcome!
Although a short-timer here, I read daily and enjoy the community pride and info. I too have never had such a fun car!
I had a total of about 1 hour experience in a stick-shift when I got mine and have had a great time learning. I cannot wait to get more experience and really MOTOR!

Welcome to NAM and MINI ownership, Spryguy! Ain't it great?
Where in L.A. are you located? I'm in Mar Vista, near the Santa Monica Airport (aka Cloverfield
). Be sure to check out the local SoCal forum, get involved with the local and regional clubs, and come motor with us!

Glad to be here. I'm in the Miracle Mile district in town. On the weekends I motor out to Topanga Canyon and the PCH and let the ocean air waft in through the moonroof, and once a month I make a trek to Santa Monica to the Lush store. Maybe I'll see ya on the road!
Welcome to the family Spryguy!!! Mmmmm... which relative are you?? Ugly uncle? Surfer sibling? Crazy cousin?
Godspeed.
Godspeed.

Welcome! Believe me, the feeling doesn't go away. I've had my car for almost a year and a half, and I still look out my window every day just to glance at it. I park it right outside my window at work so I can see it, and if I look out the window at the top of the stairs at home, I am looking out onto the top of the car, and seeing the car with the flag on top always puts a smile on my face. This site is also just as addictive.
